biography - confide

With members from different parts of the world ranging from England, to Texas, to Latin America, Confide reside in Southern California during the little time they spend home from tour. "We pride ourselves on our live show" says vocalist, Ross Kenyon who was born and raised in England but moved to California to join Confide in May 2007. "We love being out on the road and meeting new people so we try our best to be out on tour as much as possible" adds drummer, Joel Piper.
After releasing their debut album, "Shout the truth" in 2008, Confide has passed levels of expectations of even their own band members. Guitarist, Jeff Helberg says "We didn't expect "Shout the truth" to do as well as it did. We'd be playing shows 3000 miles away from home and people would be singing our lyrics. It's just surreal to us."
Shortly after releasing their debut album, Confide landed a spot on the 2008 Vans Warped Tour on the smart punk stage which took the band to new heights. In their touring career, Confide has toured with the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Blessthefall, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster, Attack Attack, A Static Lullaby & From First to Last as well as a handful of headline tours.
After months of excessive touring in support of "Shout the truth", Confide headed into the studio to record their sophomore release, "Recover". "We spent around six months writing our second album in between touring and we actually did some co-writing with Tom Denney (ex guitarist of A Day to Remember). We then spent five weeks in the studio with producer, Joey Sturgis in December 2009" says guitarist, Joshua Paul. "Recover" is due out in May 2010 and the band couldn't be happier with how the record came out. "We decided to call the album Recover because we feel every person is recovering from something, wether that be losing a family member or friend, an addiction, a break up, divorce or anything you're going through in life. Lyrically, the album is about things I've been through in my life and how God has helped me recover from those things. This album is to offer hope to those people who are recovering and to show them that there is a way out of what you're going through" says Kenyon.
Confide is set to tour UK and Europe this spring and play the whole Vans Warped Tour 2010 again this summer. Bassist, Trevor Vickers says "We can't wait to head back out on Warped Tour this summer. It's one of those tours I went to when I was younger so actually playing it is an awesome experience".
Expect something new and fresh from Confide this spring when "Recover" hits stores. "It's nothing like our first album" says Piper, "We feel it's going to surprise a lot of people. It's heavy, it's catchy and it's passionate. It's going to blow people away"

BIOGRAPHY - PARKWAY DRIVE

Byron Bay's Parkway Drive are set to cement their reputation as one of the most dominant exponents of heavy music on the planet with their spellbinding third album, Deep Blue. The hotly anticipated follow-up to 2007’s Horizons, Deep Blue raises the bar in every conceivable way.

Determined to surpass previous efforts, Parkway Drive has gone all out in creating a complete listening experience. While maintaining the band’s trademark sound at its core, Deep Blue weaves music, lyrics and artwork together into a dense concept that flows from beginning to end.

“It’s basically about the search for truth in a world that seems to be devoid of that,” says vocalist and lyricist Winston McCall, explaining the narrative running through Deep Blue. “The story is told through the eyes of a man who wakes up and realises that his life is a lie and nothing he believes in is real. So he tries to find the truth within himself and his journey takes him to the bottom of the ocean and back again.”

Having recorded their first two albums with Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, Deep Blue was tracked and mixed in Los Angeles, CA by Joe Barresi (Bad Religion, Queens Of The Stone Age, Tool), and mastered by legendary mastering engineer Brian Gardner.

After two well received albums, 2004’s Killing With A Smile and 2007’s Horizons (the latter achieving Top 6 ARIA chart success), 2009’s Parkway Drive: The DVD was met with a typically rabid response. It debuted at 2 on the ARIA chart and achieved Platinum status within weeks. By year’s end it was Australia’s biggest selling local artist DVD and was crowned ‘Best Music DVD’ at the 2009 Rolling Stone Awards.

Already one of the most anticipated heavy releases of 2010, Deep Blue represents an exciting new chapter in the story of Australia’s most successful hardcore band.

Deep Blue will be unleashed via Resist Records on June 25th, in Europe via Burning Heart on June 28th and in the US via Epitaph on June 29th.
